STUDENT

SPONSORSHIPS

We know that when families are supported, children have the best chance to succeed. I know that this matters because I know them, they are a name and not just a number. I’ve been in their homes, I’ve heard their stories.

Tegemeza is dedicated to doing this - we empower entire families through holistic sponsorship

This year in Meru County, we have supported 150 girls that otherwise would not have had a chance at this education.

There are so many more that are left behind. However, the impact is rippling through the community and impacting an entire generation.

We’re removing students from abuse in the home, unsafe environments, uneducated parents, single mothers. We’re breaking generational cycles.

Even orphaned children who have never had anyone looking out for them. We love on them, we give them hope, we want them to know that we’re supporting them and rooting for them even from all the the way in Canada across the oceans.

WOMEN'S

EMPOWERMENT

INITITATIVE

Microfinance programs have made a significant impact in underprivileged communities across Kenya by providing women with the tools to achieve financial independence.

Through small loans, savings opportunities, and financial literacy, these programs enable women, particularly mothers, to start and grow businesses, improve their household income, and create more stable home environments. As a result, children benefit from better access to food, healthcare, and education, laying the foundation for a brighter future.

The empowerment of women through microfinance doesn’t just impact individual families—it strengthens entire communities. Women who gain financial independence become role models and contribute to a culture of self-reliance and entrepreneurship. According to a 2020 report, over 70% of women in microfinance programs reported increased control over household spending, and 62% saw improvements in household income. These positive changes ripple throughout the community, improving health, education, and economic stability for everyone.

Ultimately, microfinance is a powerful tool that helps break the cycle of poverty in Kenya. By supporting mothers and families, these programs help build stronger communities and brighter futures for the next generation.

mentorship, training & community

Community training and facilitation programs have a powerful impact on underprivileged communities by equipping individuals with essential skills and knowledge.

These programs provide training in areas like entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and healthcare, empowering people to improve their lives and contribute to their families and local economies. Access to such support helps break the cycle of poverty, creating lasting change for individuals and communities.

For families, the benefits are clear. Parents gain new skills that increase their earning potential, while children experience more stability with better access to education and healthcare. Studies have shown that training programs can increase household income by up to 25%, improving the overall quality of life.

On a community level, these programs foster collaboration and resilience, with participants often sharing their new skills, creating a ripple effect. In Kenya, over 50% of communities involved in such programs reported economic improvements and stronger social cohesion, according to a 2021 ILO report.

Ultimately, community training and facilitation programs are key to building more resilient and self-sufficient communities, transforming lives and strengthening local economies.
